This enriching school trip combines making a lasting difference helping a Nepalese community get back on its feet by helping rebuild after the 2015 earthquake, plus experience a cultural tour, cooking class, dance lessons and performance, and hiking, all led by expert Nepalese guides.
Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you are greeted at the airport and transferred to your hotel. You have a welcome dinner and settle in to your surroundings.
Your expert Nepalese guides take you on a tour of some of the Nepalese, Tibetan, Hindu and Buddhist cultural highlights of Kathmandu and Pashupatinath, taking in historic Durbar Square,Taleju Temple, Kathesimbu Stupa, and witnessing cremations on the riverbanks of the Bagmati.
We finish the day with a lesson in Nepalese dancing, followed by a cooking class.
Much work still remains to be done to restore houses and other buildings to a usable condition after the earthquake of 2015. Your group can work alongside local expert builders to help renovate a classroom so that students can resume their educations in a permanent, strong structure.
This morning we are driven a short distance from Kathmandu, to the Newari town of Dhulikel in the Kathmandu Valley. We jump on mountain bikes from here, and enjoy a fantastic ride through forests and valleys, taking in a Kali Temple, stupas, a Tibetan monastery, ghats, and villages, with lunch in a traditional tea house.
We complete your trip with a spectacular Nepalese dinner and traditional dance performance back in Kathmandu.
After breakfast, we squeeze in some souvenir shopping before departing to the airport for your flight out.
